Leak Detection Simplified: With R-32, SmartSource WSHPs only require leak detection and mitigation in units 15 tons and larger. In contrast, competitor units will need leak detection and mitigation in lower tonnage units, sometimes as small as 5 tons.
Low-GWP: R-32 boasts a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 675 compared to other refrigerants, minimizing its impact on global warming.
Reduced Refrigerant Use: R-32's excellent performance allows for up to 40% less charge in certain applications, potentially lowering both the amount used in equipment and potential leaks.
Easy Maintenance: Being a single-component refrigerant, R-32 maintains consistent quality. It can be topped off or recharged in either liquid or gas form on-site to simplify cleaning and reuse.
Efficient Recycling: R-32 requires a simpler cleaning process for reclaiming and recycling compared to refrigerant blends that need complex distillation and remixing.
